LEARN TO LIFT FAQ’S
General Program & Eligibility
Q: Who is this program really for? A: This program is specifically designed for beginners! If you have little to no experience with barbells, kettlebells, or classic lifts (like the deadlift and bench press), or if you want to ensure your form is perfect, this class is for you. We move at a slower, educational pace.
Q: I'm worried about getting "too bulky." Will this happen? A: No. Building a large amount of muscle (bulk) takes years of very specific, high-frequency training and dedicated nutrition. This program is focused on building foundational strength, improving joint health, boosting metabolism, and creating a resilient physique. You will feel stronger and more toned, not bulky.
Q: I have a previous injury/chronic pain. Can I still join? A: Strength training is often used to manage chronic pain by building stability. Please consult with your physician before beginning any new program. We offer personalized guidance and semi-customizable movements, but our expert coaches need to know about any issues beforehand so we can provide appropriate modifications.
Class Structure & Equipment
Q: What exactly will I be learning? A: You will learn the basics of fundamental movement patterns like deadlifts, bench presses, rows, and other essential lifts. The focus is on technique first, before adding significant weight.
Q: What kind of equipment will we be using? A: We will use a variety of free weights, including dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbells. This ensures you gain confidence and competency with all the major tools found in a gym.
Q: Is the pace too fast for a true beginner? A: No. This is a supportive, slower-paced, growth minded environment. Our primary goal is education and form perfection. We take the time to break down each movement and answer questions, ensuring a comfortable and effective learning experience.
Q: Do I need to be a member of your gym to register? A: No! This program is open to the public. You can simply choose the Drop-In rate or register for the full 3-session series.
Q: What should I bring to the class? A: Bring comfortable athletic clothing, a water bottle, and clean indoor shoes. A good pair of stable, flat-soled shoes (like trainers or running shoes) is helpful, but sneakers you are comfortable in are fine to start!
